What uses AI on StateHireReady
These features use AI (via Anthropic's Claude) to generate a response based only on the specific text you provide: Career Coach, SOQ Coach, STD 678 Review, Cover Letter drafting, the Qualifications Matcher, Duty Statement analysis, the Project Lab, Written Response Coach, Face the Panel feedback, and the "What Is This Question Really Asking?" breakdown tool.
What these tools are instructed to do — and not do
Every AI feature on StateHireReady is instructed to work only from what you actually typed. They are built to refuse to invent employers, job titles, dates, credentials, accomplishments, or metrics you did not state, and to say so plainly (e.g. flag a gap) rather than paper over missing information with generic-sounding filler.
That said, AI output can still be wrong, incomplete, or miss context a human would catch. You are responsible for reviewing any AI-assisted draft before using it in a real application, and for the accuracy of anything you ultimately submit to a real employer or the State — the actual State application (the STD 678) is signed by you under penalty of perjury, not by StateHireReady.
The Knowledge Catalog
Facts published in the public Knowledge Catalog are only published after being independently confirmed across multiple real job postings and cleared by a human reviewer — they are not generated by AI. Always verify a specific requirement against the actual job posting or official State source before relying on it; a posting's own text is always the final authority for that posting.
